Niantic Labs is preparing for the Pokémon Go Summer Tour which will feature another Pokémon Go Fest and a handful of Pokémon Go Safari events across the world.
The Pokémon Go Summer Tour will consist of a number of real-world events and activities that’ll tale place across the globe. The Tour begins with the Pokémon Go Safari Zone Dortmund in Germany on June 30 and July 1 followed by the Pokémon Go Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park in Chicago on July 14 and 15.
Following the events of the last Pokémon Go Fest, it seems Niantic labs have prepared something a little different as players will be encouraged to take a walk through Chicago’s Lincoln Park where they’ll find physical installations and exclusive activities for Trainers. What’s more, the surrounding region of Chicago will see additional in-game activities and appearances of rare Pokémon.
Hopefully spreading players around will help prevent the previous issue of networks being clogged and players being unable to even access the game.
Tickets for Pokémon Go Fest 2018: A Walk in the Park will go on sale on May 11 at 9:00 A.M PDT for $20. Following Pokémon Go Fest, a finalSafari Zone will be held in Yokosuka, Japan later in the summer.
“The Pokémon Go Summer Tour 2018 is set to bring Trainers together around the world for fun, exploration and adventure,” said John Hanke, founder and CEO of Niantic, Inc. “After getting off to a bumpy start in Chicago last year, we hosted a number of record-setting events in Japan, Korea, and cities across Europe with attendance that ranged from tens of thousands to more than two million. We are excited to to be returning to Chicago for our US event. It will take place in Lincoln Park and will feature in-game activities in the park and throughout the city as well as connected gameplay events around the world.”
As for players in the rest of the world Niantic Labs plans to hold in-game events throughout summer which all players will be able to dive into.
