Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! are two brand new Pokémon games coming to the Nintendo Switch this November, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have announced.

In a Pokémon-focused live stream earlier today, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company announced three new Pokémon games coming to the Nintendo Switch. The first is Pokémon Quest, and the other two are Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!.

These two titles are set to bring players back to the beginning as each game is inspired by Pokémon Yellow but with a completely new twist. Basically, take Pokémon GO, slap it on the Nintendo Switch, add some JoyCon mechanics, and boom, you’ve got a hit new game for the Switch.

Much like Pokémon Go, players will be able to find and capture their favourite Pokémon from the Kanto Region with either Pikachu in Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Eevee in Let’s Go, Eevee!. They’ll be able to also make the most of the JoyCon for throwing Pokéballs to catch Pokémon. The Switch’s portability and multiplayer focus also makes it ideal for families to get involved.

“With the launch of Pokémon GO in 2016 and the global sensation that ensued, millions of new players were introduced to the world of Pokémon,” said Junichi Masuda, director at GAME FREAK inc. “For many people, Pokémon GO was their first experience with the Pokémon brand, so we have crafted these two new titles to be an accessible entry point to our core RPG series while giving our longtime fans a new way to play Pokémon.”

For said players who’s only experience with Pokémon is through Pokémon Go, they’ll be able to connect their Pokémon GO accounts to their Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game. What this allows is for players to then transfer Kanto Region Pokémon to their Let’s Go games.

“Something special will also be coming to the world of Pokémon GO, making the connection between both games even more appealing for Trainers. Details for this will be revealed in the near future,” The Pokémon Company said in a press release.

Finally, in addition to the two new games, Nintendo plans to launch The Poké Ball Plus, a brand new device which can be used in the games which can be used in place of a Joy-Con or in Pokémon GO to make th game even more immersive. The Poké Ball Plus features motion controls, lights, vibration, and sound.

In the Nintendo Switch games, the device will vibrate to make it feel like there’s a Pokémon inside the ball. As for its Pokémon GO interaction, players can take their ball with them as they explore the real world and then receive exclusive rewards when they return to the Switch games.
