This week Epic Games launched a brand new limited time mash up for Fortnite which brings The Avengers: Infinity War antagonist, Thanos, into the game… and almost immediately nerfs the chap.
Fortnite‘s Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup launched yesterday giving players the chance to drop into the game and grab the titular Infinity Gauntlet. Once acquired, players turn into Thanos and can reign absolute hell on other players in the game. Seems like a good idea, right? Well, turns out Thanos was a little bit too powerful.
Thanos’ super powers allow him to punch to knock enemies back as well as destroying structures. What’s more, his ground pound is also pretty epic as is his energy blast which delivers damage over time. Finally he has a super jump that allows him to get across the map in quick time. If players manage to achieve a kill, his shields regenerate making him a pretty formidable foe.
Check out the trailer below:
Since his inclusion however Epic Games has received plenty of feedback for the character and have released a quick patch to tone him down somewhat. The patch decreased Thanos’ shield cap from 300 to 200, but raised his max health from 700 to 800. His laser damage also took a bit of a hit from 15 to 12.
Players can become Thanos in Fortnite by finding the Infinity Gauntlet which crashes into the ground at the beginning of the game.
