God of War is once again top of the UK Gaming Charts giving Sony its fourth consecutive number one, but was it just perfect timing?
Let’s face it, with little in the way of new, big, AAA releases, it comes as no surprise that Sony’s highly anticipated title, God of War, is dominating the UK Charts. It’s difficult to say if it’d remain on the top spot if it launched either at the beginning or end of the year when other staple AAA titles launch, but it’s certainly an interesting thought. Last week God of War has saw a 30% dip in sales week-on-week.
In second place is Nintendo’s Donkey Kong re-release, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a non-mover from last week. The game has also seen a dip in sales, a little higher than God of War at 32%, but that’s not actually bad news, especially for a second week of sales as well as being a re-release of a Wii U title.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for the Switch has also sold around a quarter of all sales in the UK for the game. The game has also sold more copies than both Nintendo Labo product combined.
Speaking of non-movers, both Far Cry 5 and FIFA 18 remain in third and fourth place, respectively. The only new release is Deep Silver’s Conan Exiles which lands in thirteenth place.
