At E3 2018, EA revealed that Battlefield V will not have any form of loot boxes when it launched in October. In response to fan criticism of Star Wars Battlefront 2, it seems the company will not be bringing the controversial mechanism back in the newest addition to the Battlefield family.
There was also an announcement that the game will launch with a Battle Royale mode “at fans’ request”. While this may be hard to believe, it seems that EA want to jump on the Battle Royale hype and make the most from the gravy train.
Other gameplay innovations include ‘diving and smashing through windows’ (is this an innovation?), move weapons around the battlefield with transport vehicles and the destruction system is back. The footage showed tanks rolling through full houses, which I’ll be honest, looks pretty cool.
