The good old folks at Capcom have treated all Devil May Cry fans to a little nugget of hope today, as it’s been revealed that they’ve updated the domain name for Devil May Cry 5.
While ‘Owning’ the domain does little to actually confirm the existence of Devil May Cry 5, as they’ve owned the domain since May 18, but Capcom have a history of updating their owned domains just before an announcement. As you may have guessed it, Devil May Cry 5‘s domain was updated on June 1st.
By no means is this an actual confirmation of the game existing, as Capcom could just be making sure a plucky young buck doesn’t slide in and pinch their domain, forcing them to pay more for it come the actual announcement. But we should air on the positive side and see this as a potential nod towards an E3 announcement.
Hopefully Capcom can right the wrongs of Ninja Theory and release a better game than DmC:Devil May Cry. (Yes I know that further revisions of the game made it actually quite good). Could we see Dante returning on the E3 stage? Maybe we’ll get to play as Nero again or even have a stand alone Vergil game? Only time will tell, but I’m hopeful we’ll have some actual Devil May Cry 5 news at E3.
What do you guys think? Could we potentially get a Sparda game instead? Let’s get the conversation going in the comments below!
