Shortly after Sony’s E3 showcase last night, a new trailer was shown giving us our first look at From Software’s next game, a VR title called Déraciné.
According to Google, Déraciné means “(of a person) uprooted from their natural environment; deracinated.” Which doesn’t really give away too much, just like the game’s debut trailer which showed off a Victorian-like setting shrouded in a sepia tone before ending in full colour.
The overall look of Déraciné is a big departure from From Software’s usual dark horrific action-oriented affair. This is the official game description according to Sony:
“As a spirit summoned by a young girl in a secluded boarding school, the player must prove its existence and build a unique bond with the students through clever interactions. As the mystery of the story unfolds, the spirit must use its ability to manipulate the forces of life and time to change the fate of the pupils.”
Either way, it looks quite interesting, to say the least:
