Square Enix has announced the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 for early 2019, delayed from its intended late 2018 release.

While this is definitely bad news for fans of the game, the good news is that we finally have a secured release date, with Kingdom Hearts 3 set to release on February 29, 2019.

Director Tetsuya Nomura Had the following to say about the delay, ahead of Square Enix’s E3 media briefing:

“We’ve announced the release day for Kingdom Hearts 3 ahead of E3 at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra – World Tour-. I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you.”

We expect to see much, much more regarding Kingdom Hearts 3 at E3, and you can follow our covage live over on twitch!
