E3 2018: The Forgotten City Coming to PC

A re-imagined...remaster?

During the PC Gaming Show one of Skyrim’s most ambitious mods, the Forgotten City, was announced as a stand alone game, also called The Forgotten City.

The synopsis reads, “Deep underground in an ancient Roman city, a fragmented community lays dead because someone broke a mysterious law. Within, a portal leads back into the past, allowing one person to change the fate of the city’s inhabitants—or witness their deaths in a time loop for eternity.”

The original mod, The Forgotten City, was downloaded by over 1.6 million people. Thankfully, this new iteration will “retain all the elements which made the original beloved”, according to developer Modern Storyteller. However, I doubt this is a completely faithful remake, considering it’s being remade in Unreal Engine, getting updated characters and dialogue, new twists, endings and lore, additional combat, new wall climbing mechanics, a fresh orchestral score, professional voice acting, and mo-cap animations. You know, just a few minor changes.

While there is no set date, players can expect to revisit the Forgotten City sometime in 2019. Check out the trailer below and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments!
