For the first time in the series, Playground Games have revealed the Forza Horizon 4 will feature narrative elements.
Named “Horizon Stories”, the bite-sized chunks of story will involve you becoming a taxi, a stunt driver, or a plethora of other, unannounced, driving activities.
“One of the things that’s brand-new is that we’ve added a feature called Horizon Stories. They’re really cool little bite-sized pieces of narrative-based gameplay,” Benjamin Penrose told Destructoid.
Apparently you’ll be able to engage in the 0″narratives that are associated with other racing games” with the leading example being the classic Dreamcast title, Crazy Taxi. Fingers crossed that the soundtrack locks to a single Offspring track when you begin these “Horizon Stories”.
Announced at Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference, Forza Horizon 4 will be launching on Xbox One and PC on October 2. Taking place in the UK, the game includes dynamic seasons, among other things. Hopefully it stays true to the UK and we can go from snow, to rain, to blistering heat in mere minutes!
