For those who don’t know, there’s been a little legal rumble regarding who owns the Friday the 13th movies. As is to be expected, this as spilled over to affect the gaming world.
Proof that we can’t ever have nice things, development for any new content has stopped on the Friday the 13th game, with players asking if content will resume once the issues have been resolved.
“The answer is no,” as posted on the official F13 game forums. “Development on games can’t just pause indefinitely and pick back up again; it doesn’t work that way. Especially when you have no idea when that future date will occur. We can’t keep building content that may never see the light of day. That’s bad business.”
While it’s not the news fans will have wanted, it’s hard to hold the developers accountable as the issue is out of their hands. What might be the final nail in the coffin, is that they can’t even add original characters to the game now.
“We can’t add any content, whatsoever. Nada. Not even a new tree or rock. We can only focus on console dedicated servers, bug fixes, and maintenance.”
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’ll ever get any good news from Camp Crystal Lake. Hopefully fans will be treated to some good news in the future.
