Legally Blonde 3 might actually be happening as Reese Witherspoon is currently in talks with MGM to make the movie happen.
If the talks are a success, Witherspoon is set to reprise her role as Elle Woods with her Hello Sunshine production company producing the sequel. Original producers Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Platt Productions are also set to produce the movie.
As for the script, MGM is also working on a deal with screenwriter Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah, who wrote the scrips for the original, so it’s likely that if the third movie goes ahead it’ll be more in touch with the first movie than the questionable sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde.
Legally Blonde first hit theatres in 2001 with the second movie being released two years later. Now, 15 years later, it’ll be interesting to see how Elle Woods is getting on in this new digital age. There’s definitely plenty of directions this new movie could go.
