Great news for the Lords Of The Fallen fans this week, all five of you, as it’s been announced that the sequel to the 2014 souls-like will be picked up by Defiant Studios.
Founded in 2016 by David Grijns and Roland Lesterlin, who worked as game director and executive producer on Just Cause 3. Defiant Studios have been picked by CI Games, publishers of Lords Of The Fallen, to put on the development shoes left behind by Deck13 Interactive, as they moved on to develop 2017s The Surge.
Though Lords Of The Fallen 2 was set to release in 2017, the game sounds to be a long way off being done. CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński had this to say in a news release:
“We finally decided to move forward with Defiant because we were impressed with their game concept, production expertise, and the pedigree of their developers. Defiant is made up of some the industry’s most talented creators, and we are thrilled to have them create the sequel to LotF. We look forward to bringing their next big game to the global market on consoles and PC.”
It’s safe to assume that Lords Of The Fallen 2 will continue to be heavily influenced by the Dark Souls series, much like the first game.
Are you guys excited for Lords Of The Fallen 2 to actually be in development? It’ll be nice to see more Souls-like games in the market place, especially if this builds upon the work done in the first.
