Fortnite‘s Season 5 is finally here after a few weeks of teasing and objects from within the game appearing in real life. Now we know what it all means.
It looks like the missile which shot up into the sky leaving a huge crack has caused rifts in other parallel universes causing items from their respective times to be thrust into the active game. Items such as Viking ships, desert outposts, and ancient statues, among other things, are how randomly plonked across the map offering new areas to explore.
Aside from the new landmarks, Fortnite Season 5’s first big addition is the All Terrain Kart (ATK), the first actual vehicle in Fortnite that’ll fit an entire four-person squad within. There’s also a new Flintlock weapon set for players to get their hands on too.
Remember those rifts that were sucking up items and landmarks from within the game? Well, they’re now capable of sucking up players and, presumably, coughing them out in other areas of the map. At least, that’s what we hope happens…?
As for the game’s Save The World campaign, players will be able to try their hand at the new Challenge the Horde mode which, as you might have guessed, sees players defending their fort against the horde.
