God of War isn’t coming to Netflix later this month it’s been revealed, however, the game’s director is quite keen for it to happen.
By now I am sure most of you have seen that ridiculous poster of Jason Momoa white, bald, and bearing the mark of Kratos on his face. (If not, just look at the beginning of this article.) Obviously, that was a fantastic internet trolling attempt to get a lot of people’s hopes up just to crush those dreams shortly thereafter.
God of War’s own Corey Barlog, Director, confirmed via Tweet that this social media scam was just that, a scam. However, his wording will assuredly leave some fans hopeful for the future…
True. This is not happening.

So yes, while this rumor has been laid to rest, could he possibly be teasing something way down the road? Maybe he just wants to troll us himself. I mean obviously Jason Momoa would be a great fit for everyone’s favorite pissed off Demi-God, but it also sounds too good to be true.
Obviously, this is all hearsay and should be taken with a grain of salt. A line from Balrog’s tweet is in no way confirmation of anything, but it’s obviously something people would absolutely love to see. With Netflix being the streaming platform tycoon they are, it wouldn’t be that hard to see them maybe wanting to exploit the cash cow that is God of War. After all, a Witcher series is in the works, why not make a God of War series?
Sadly, for the time being, we’ll just have to dream, wait, and see. Personally, I don’t think it’s a long shot that someday we could see Netflix taking on God of War. Honestly, it’s kind of a no-brainer. We get more of our favorite Spartan, Netflix gains even more of a following and money, that sounds like a win-win to me.
