Hypercharge: Unboxed is set to get a pretty massive update with Early Access Version 2.0, developer Digital Cybercherries has announced in an update post on Steam.
Late last year the developer candidly revealed that development on Hypercharge: Unboxed wasn’t going as smoothly as planned due to the team having some major restructuring and finding the time to develop between working full-time jobs. Thankfully, however, the team have now detailed what’s in store for the future of the game, and it’s a big one.
Originally set to arrive in May, Hypercharge: Unboxed is set to see its big Early Access Version 2.0 patch land sometime this month (July) and with that will come a number of big improvements and changes to the game.
The first big update is a brand new UI and HUD which the developers say will be much more “intuitive and user-friendly”. The game will also see some better-looking visuals in terms of animations and particle effects.
As for gameplay, players can expect to find a new basic unlock system that’ll have players earning skins in the game. There’ll also be the addition of new maps, weapons, and enemies (hopefully we get more dinosaurs!).
In addition, the game will see a number of optimizations and improvements such as load times, framerates, bug fixes, split-screen support, and much more.
The developers also revealed that they’re working on not only a new build mechanic in Hypercharge: Unboxed but also adding the ability to melee in the game, which is definitely an improvement. They also pushed out a batch of screenshots this weekend showing off some of the game’s new maps and revealing that they’re aiming to make each map more diverse regarding player movement.
What this basically means is that if you can see it, you can probably climb on or jump across it, but so will some of the game’s enemies. To take a look at some of the new screenshots, head on over to the game’s Steam page.
