Shallow, reprehensible human beings who concoct immoral schemes to gain money in any way they can, solely to fuel their perverse, decadent spiral into nothingness. Anyway, enough about the minds behind the free mobile games industry, it has been announced that the hugely entertaining show It’s Always Sunny in Philidelphia will be getting its own mobile game.
The game, titled It’s Always Sunny: The Gang Goes Mobile, will have players taking control of the show’s protagonists as they come up with schemes and plans to make money. The game is set to be littered with references to the show, whether that be through unlocking characters, lifting direct plots or reusing dialogue. This suggests that it will definitely be a fan game, and anyone who has never seen It’s Always Sunny should probably go watch that first.
So, will it be a shameless cash-grab like most mobile games? I would say it’s very likely. While many who have worked on the show and the game claim otherwise, we have heard this story too many times. Whether it’s Jurassic Park or Trailer Park Boys, the free mobile game is designed for micro-payments. Still, that doesn’t mean these types of games aren’t fun on a train ride or while waiting for a bus, so it may be worth checking out.
Currently, there is no release date scheduled, but it is expected later this year. You can find out more about It’s Always Sunny: The Gang Goes Mobile and sign-up for regular updates at the game’s website.
