Jay Pinkerton, co-writer of Portal 2, has returned to Valve, it has emerged.

Pinkerton has returned to Valve, with the news first being broken via Reddit user OWLverlord, who first noted his return to the staff list on the valve website.

Pinkerton left Valve back in June 2017, after fellow Portal 2 co-writers Erik Wolpaw and Chet Faliszek left the company during a period in which much of Valve’s writing talent departed.

Naturally, fans are now jumping to conclusions of new titles from Valve, with hopes of a new Portal or Left 4 Dead title. Valve’s focus has not been on new games for a while now, with the company, instead, working on its existing titles, most recently adding new content to Team Fortress 2, as well as it’s platform Steam.

Aside from being a co-writer on Portal 2, Pinkerton also helped with the writing of parts of Left 4 Dead, as well as supplemental materials, such as the Team Fortress 2 comic series.

What do you think the return of Jay Pinkerton to Valve means? Maybe writing on a new IP? Or is he returning to work on more supplementary materials? Let us know below!
