Konami have given the order for the P.T. PC Remake to be shut down. Thankfully this isn’t another cease and desist story, with the creator, who goes by the alias Qimsar, being offered an internship with the company.
Konami were nice enough to contact Qimsar by phone, to ask him to take down the P.T. PC Remake. Qimsar stated in a post on Game Jolt that the Konami representitive told him that his “remake was popular around the office and that because of my remake, Konami had a strong resurgence of a desire to make legitimate games again”
While Konami is yet to comment on this statement, it’s damn good news for Qimsar, with Konami offering the 17 year old an internship. It also seems that some stress has been taken off the poor lad, and while it’s a shame to see his remake taken down, when i was so close to completion, it’s great to see that Konami have been more than kind about the whole situation.
“I’m personally surprised that Konami acted this way, I was really scared that they would just hit me up with a C&D and that would be it but nah, they politely called me to take it down and they’re giving me a freaking internship – dude what even is that?”
This isn’t the first time that someone has been offered a place within a company for creating something based around one of their IP’s, but it’s always lovely to hear about it. So go get creating people, you never know who could be watching. We wish Qimsar all the best at his new job with Konami. Not a bad bit of news eh?
P.T. was a memorable creation from the depths of Hideo Kojima’s mind, and we got another look at his upcoming title, Death Stranding, at E3 this year. You can read more about it here.
