Vainglory, one of the leading mobile MOBA titles which has taken the world by storm is now available in alpha on PC and Mac!
While we don’t usually see mobile-first titles make the leap to PC, it seems Vainglory is one of the exceptions. Having already caused quite a stir in the mobile esports scene, Super Evil Megacorp has announced the game’s arrival on PC and Mac.
It might seem like a bit of an odd announcement, especially considering the game’s mobile-first focus was one of the things which made the game stand out from the already crowded MOBA market dominated by League of Legends and DOTA 2. But now it seems the mobile market is getting crowded by MOBAs too.
Fortunately for Vainglory, Super Evil Megacorp’s custom game engine, which they’ve worked on over the past ten years, will make the transition to PC and Mac much simpler. What’s more, the game will be cross-platform meaning players on PC will be able to dive in with mobile players, and vice-versa.
Players interested in giving the game a spin can do so right now as the game has landed in alpha and players can head to the game’s website to download the client.
“Please note that we still have a lot of work to do–proper text input support, preference settings, UI improvements and custom key bindings, bug fixes, and control input tuning are all in progress,” the developer said in the announcement. “But we’re excited to get started. We want you to be part of this journey and would love your help in making Vainglory for Windows and Mac every bit as good as it is on mobile.”
