Overwatch ‘Pink Mercy’ Skin Raises $12.7 Million for Breast Cancer Research

Blizzard has announced that the ‘Pink Mercy’ Skin for Overwatch raised a massive $12.7 Million dollars for Breast Cancer Research.

All of the money raised by the Overwatch event is going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a truly incredible cause.

The sum was raised over a 2 week period, with the skin available for $15, and a rough estimate marks the sales of the Overwatch skin to be north of 800,000. The $12.7 Million was also boosted by a $30 limited edition Mercy T-shirt, the proceeds also going to BCRF. Blizzard said “thousands” of shirts were sold, meaning that the bulk of the money raised did indeed come from the Skin itself.

The money will be helping fund “prevention strategies, improved treatments, survivorship and quality of life for breast cancer patients worldwide” said Stephanie Kauffman, Chief Strategic Alliances Officer at BCRF.
