With the announcement of Super Smash Bros Ultimate at E3 2018, we were bound to end up with a few new Amiibos. Queue the announcement of fan favourites, Pichu and Ice Climbers.
With the news coming from Nintendo’s official Japanese website, we only actually see mention of Pichu and Ice Climbers getting the Amiibo treatment as “Resurrection Fighters”. Hopefully this will be hinting at more Smash Bros. Amiibos in the future, because as we all know, I’m gonna need me a Solid Snake Amiibo.
Unfortunately we haven’t been treated to any actual images of the Amiibos as of yet, but the post was also keen to reiterate that Daisy, Ridley, and Inkling will be getting their own Amiibos. Not only will Amiibo data carry over in to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo confirmed that you’ll be able to use a Gamecube controller to play it, for those people.
Fingers crossed we get an Amiibo for every character, like Nintendo did for the Wii U and 3DS version of Super Smash Bros.. While it’s unlikely that every character will get a new one (seeing as progression will carry over), hopefully we’ll get some from the returning characters. Nintendo, give me my Solid Snake Amiibo!
