Hold onto your Magikarp hats people, as Lucky Pokémon are coming to Pokémon GO, the first type exclusive to the mobile Alternate Reality game.
Pokémon GO looks to be heading into its second (or third) wind following the first successful Pokémon Go fest. With friends and trading finally in the game, Niantic Labs has announced that a new Pokémon Type will be coming to the game: Lucky Pokémon.
Trainers who trade Pokémon may have a chance in adding this new trait to the Pokémon in which they trade. These “sparkly” Lucky Pokémon will require less Stardust to power up allowing them to become more powerful, even quicker.
While Niantic is keeping quiet about the chances of actually receiving a Lucky Pokémon, they have revealed that it’s more likely that those who have been kept in players storage for longer have a higher chance to become Lucky.
With the arrival of Lucky Pokémon, Niantic has also announced that Gifts in Pokémon Go will now also include special surprises such as additional XP and Stardust.
