With Gamescom still a few days away, DICE have treated us to a striking new trailer for Battlefield 5 to gawp over.
The new Battlefield 5 trailer covers the Devastation of Rotterdam with a mix of cutscenes and gameplay footage we see scenes of the Dutch city’s ruined streets, in EA’s classic cinematic style. There’s your typical mix of screaming soldiers and erupting explosions, all backed by a harrowing rendition of “House of the Rising Sun.”
The trailer also shows off Battlefield 5’s tank warfare, which seems to be so far, so Battlefield. We also get a glimpse of the air combat, which looks rather like that of the previous title, Battlefield 1.
With a promise of deeply emotional storylines, we’re sure to see the Battle of Rotterdam feature there as well as within Battlefield 5’s multiplayer.
The trailer ends with a circle of fire rapidly enclosing, which could well be a hint towards the game’s Battle Royale mode, which we’re hoping to hear more about at Gamescom.
