As promised, Square Enix has unveiled the first trailer for Life is Strange 2 which tells a tale of two brothers, who some may recognize.
Life is Strange 2 will tell the story of Sean and Daniel Diaz aged 16 and 9-years-old, respectively. Following a tragic event in Seattle, Washington, the two are on the run from the police threatened with separation and prison. So, Sean decides to take his brother and seek salvation in their family hometown of Puerto Lobos, Mexico.
The game will follow the brothers on this journey as they face several challenges that’ll push their bond to the limits. Players will take the role of Sean and will be in control of some difficult choices, as you’d expect from a Life is Strange game. Interestingly this time around, as well as having to deal with some pretty difficult situations, the lessons players teach Sean’s younger brother, Daniel, will be most important of all.
“As with previous games in the series, Life is Strange 2 will tackle a host of issues that all of us can identify with and that will cause moral dilemmas and require much soul searching. These themes come together most powerfully in the way Daniel will develop depending on the lessons you teach him and the role model you decide to be,” the Life is Strange team wrote in a blog post.
Of course, like with Life is Strange and Max’s time-traveling powers, Life is Strange 2 will also feature a power which the team isn’t quite revealing yet, but players who have played The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit may have some idea what this power might be.
DONTNOD Entertainment has plenty more to share over the coming weeks, including gameplay, features, and the game’s soundtrack that’ll see Jonathan Morali, the French composer who worked with the team on the first game, coming back for the second along with a fully licensed soundtrack.
