During the Pokémon World Championships last week, The Pokémon Company unveiled a brand new type of card coming to the Pokémon Trading Card Game that’s set to shake up the game completely.
TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX is set to be the next evolution of Pokémon-GX which will feature pairs of Pokémon of the same type which will be even more powerful and have even more hit points. Two examples were given at the event by none other than The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara which were Lightning-type Pikachu and Zekrom who join forces in battle on a single card.
Yeah, you read that right, TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX will feature two Pokémon with combined HP and movesets. Some of these cards are so powerful they can Knock Out a single Pokémon-GX on the opponent’s bench with a single blow.
Much like Pokémon-GX, multiple prize cards are awarded when a TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX card is taken down. Normally, GX cards award two, however, TAG TEAM cards will award three.
A trailer highlighting this new powerful card can be found below:
Pikachu & Zekrom-GX is just the first of many TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX cards coming in the future. Stay tuned for more information that’s set to be unveiled soon.
