Power Rangers Turbo

It’s been 25 years since the Power Rangers drop kicked their way onto our screens and the teens with attitude are celebrating with a special anniversary. The current iteration Super Ninja Steel is going to see three classic Power Rangers return to show the new school how to do it.

There’s Katherine the Pink Mighty Morphin’ Ranger, The Pink Ninjetti Ranger, The Zeo Ranger and the Pink Turbo Ranger. Next up, you’ve got Wes, the Red Time Force Ranger.

Finally, you’ve got Tommy, The White and Green Mighty Morphin’ Power Ranger, White Ninjetti Ranger, Red Zeo Ranger, Red Turbo Ranger and The Black Dino Thunder Ranger. – Basically, you could actually do a TV series around all of Tommy’s previous roles…

Though back on track, I bet you’re all (not) wondering which classic Power Rangers I’d like to come back. Well, I’ve done a few lists like this, so now it’s time to go weird and obscure. It’s time for some cameos that’ll confuse the kids and will satisfy the grown-up fans.

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers (1995) Red Ranger

The costumes from the 1995 movie were great, right?  They could have more expensive looking costumes since the film was set in a parallel universe. Kind of like a colorful prototype to Batman body armor from the Christopher Nolan movies.

Plus, I always think Rocky is an underrated character and also add in the cool x-ray vision feature to his helmet, he’d be pretty useful for spotting bad guys in the distance.

Pink Ranger Slayer from Boom Comics

I know from September onwards, the rogue version of Kimberly, the first Pink Ranger, will play a huge role in the Boom comics, but I’d be stoked to see her in live action.

She’s kind of like the Boba Fett of the franchise since in a parallel universe she was turned evil by Lord Drakkon (an evil version of Tommy) but broke free of her control.

Plus her Megazord is cool too.

Bootleg Black Ranger

How would a coked-up Power Ranger go down? Well, it went down pretty well in the Bootleg Power Rangers movie that was a dark and gritty take on the show.

Zack, the high kicking adrenaline junkie kicked boot and spilled blood in one great fight scene.

Ryu Ranger from Power Rangers Legacy

How do you make one of the toughest fighters even stronger and cooler? Give him a Morpher of course.

He’ll be featured in the upcoming movie tie-in for the game event for Power Rangers Legacy Wars, but you can’t have too much of a good thing right?
