The Resident Evil 2 remake, which already had a collectors edition, is set to get an even larger, more expensive edition that’ll retail at £700.

While the original Resident Evil 2 remakes collectors edition was already filled to the brim with in-game rewards, as well as a statue (and a pretty cool box), it’s now become the shit eater collectors edition for peasants, as Capcom has announced a newer, shinier, more expensive collectors edition.

Reported by our friends over at Polygon, the Biohazard RE:2 Z Version Premium Edition is set to include a Qwerkywriter Bluetooth mechanical keyboard, as well as all the other good shit. It’s set to be a modified Qwerkywriter’s S model, with some Umbrella Corporation decals and also includes a tablet/smartphone charging mount, because everyone needs chargers attached to their keyboards.

Not content with just adding a mechanical keyboard to the mix, Capcom is also including four “ink ribbons”. Inside, it’s masking tape… disappointing.

What feels like a missed opportunity, the Qwerkywriter’s keyboard doesn’t actually look like the typewriter in Resident Evil 2. Though now that I think about it, that’s probably for the best considering no one’s actually going to want a giant typewriter on their desk.

So naturally, with this new Resident Evil 2 Super Hyper Turbo edition, there’s an elephant in the room. Most special editions are overpriced anyway, but £700 (or $900 US) seems rather steep. The Qwerkywriter’s S model is only worth $250 dollars, while the originally announced Premium Edition was a measly $200. This means that the Umbrella Corporation decal and 4 sets of masking tape are worth an extra $350. To be honest, that seems like a bit of a stretch.

While the Premium Edition is currently scheduled to be a Japanese exclusive, it’s a fairly safe bet that it’ll come to the West, as nothing really stays exclusive these days and Resident Evil 2 is almost definitely not an exception

Resident Evil 2 launches for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One January 25, 2019.
