Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent and Blacklist have been added to Xbox One’s ever-growing backward compatibility library! Could this mark the build-up to the release of the infamous “Splinter Cell 2018” whatever that may happen to be? Potentially.
Rumors are beginning to fly once more and speculations are rampant as Microsoft add Double Agent and Blacklist to the backward compatibility library in Xbox One. Blacklist receiving the backward compatibility treatment is no surprise, despite being a bit of a departure from the usual formula of the Splinter Cell franchise, it was without a doubt one of the stronger titles from the series.
Double Agent is widely regarded as the worst of the series and so comes as a bit of a surprise to the BC library, however, if the intention is to make all of the main titles BC in anticipation for a new title then it makes complete sense.
Whether or not a new Splinter Cell title is about to be revealed remains as nothing more than speculation and rumor since the “leaked” Wal-Mart listing. Ubisoft has remained incredibly tight-lipped about the topic, however, given the recent content for Wildlands perhaps a reveal is closer than first thought.
