Originally set to launch on September 21, 2018, Spyro Reignited Trilogy will now be coming to PS4 and Xbox One on November 13, 2018.
Toys for Bob Co-Studio Head Paul Yan announced the news over on Activision’s Blog, though failed to offer a specific reason for the delay.
“Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years. We’re deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018,” wrote Yan. “I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar, and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.”
Honestly, this comes as no real surprise considering the game’s original launch date was sandwiched between Spider-man (September 7) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (September 14) and popular sports title FIFA 19 (September 28). A mid-November release would give enough for the game to breathe.
On the other hand, Activision might have heard people’s outcry about how Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set to come with only one game on the disc, so could be using the extra time to ensure the disc comes with all games.
Either way, we’re going to have to wait a little longer before we can get another hit of nostalgia like that of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.
