Today Dotemu and Lizard Cube have announced Streets of Rage 4 bringing the classic arcade brawler to the 21st century with a brand new art style and story, with some familiar faces.
Streets of Rage is a classic series which was a staple title on the Sega Megadrive in the early 90s, and now it’s getting a fresh lick of paint. After almost 25 years Axel and Blaze are back, picking up where they left off in Streets of Rage 4.
Streets of Rage 4 is set to feature hand-drawn visuals by the same team that brought 2017’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap to life. The title is set to build upon the classic trilogy’s beat-em-up gameplay with some refreshing new mechanics, a fresh story, and plenty of stages to keep people occupied.
Like the original, Streets of Rage 4 will have both solo and co-op play with plenty of skull bashing, knife-wielding, and barrel-crushing to go around. Unfortunately, we just don’t know when or where we’ll be able to find the game…
