Japanese composer, Yuzo Koshiro, who created the iconic soundtracks for the Streets of Rage series, has commented on his involvement in Streets of Rage 4.
Streets of Rage 4 was officially announced yesterday and took everyone by surprise. Little is known about the game, other than series characters Axel and Blaze will be returning with a whole new story, and many are wondering if the series’ original composer will be back.
Over on Twitter, Yuzo wrote that he can’t say anything about his involvement, but “I understand what you are expecting”:
Thanks guys. I think I understand what you are expecting. But currently I can say nothing about the SOR4 things right here. I hope you guys understand…

In the fairly vague press release for Streets of Rage 4, it does comment on the game’s soundtrack and mentions Yuzo, but doesn’t confirm whether or not he’ll be involved in the upcoming title.
With no release date or platforms on the cards, it seems like it’s very early days for the upcoming sequel, so stay tuned for more info as it comes.
