Uncharted fans have been waiting patiently for a possible film adapt of the beloved games for what feels like forever.

Everything from whether it’ll be a direct adaptation, or an entirely new adventure, to who would be the perfect Nathan Drake has been in question since the film was originally announced back a few years ago.

In 2016, it was announced that director Shawn Levy would be taking the helm of the project – considering his past success in other projects, it felt like maybe this was a good sign that things would finally be moving along.

Since then, we were told back in May that Spider-Man star, Tom Holland, would be cast for the role of Drake himself which was pretty big news. In an interview with The Playlist Levy has also confirmed that Uncharted is finally coming out of the back burner and a project he is currently working on.

“I mean, as of right now, the closest to the starting line is ‘Uncharted’ in that it’s a massive title. We now have a very good script and we have our star in Tom Holland. That is now subject to schedule and additional casting. But I would say as of right now, that seems to be the most near horizon. And it’s a movie I’m very excited about.”

With Levy also saying that a promising script is in hand and additional casting is taking place, it seems hopeful to say that we’ll be getting more news about the Uncharted movie adaption soon!
