Blizzard Entertainment has today launched the latest expansion for their long-running MMORPG, World of Warcraft: The Battle for Azeroth.
The Battle for Azeroth will once again see The Horde and The Alliance at war after a brief moment of peace and co-operation during the previous expansion, Legion. Starting today, players can dive into World of Warcraft and pledge their allegiance to their faction, scour the world for war resources in Island Expeditions, and much more.
This is the seventh expansion to arrive for World of Warcraft further expanding the games epic storyline and lore which has been ongoing for over 25 years. The expansion will see The Alliance head to Kul Tiras to enlist the help of their legendary navy. As for The Horde, they’ll be searching for allies in Zandalar, home of the Zandalari trolls.
In addition to the two new kingdoms that players will be able to explore, there will be several new playable allied races such as Dark Iron Dwarves, Mag’har Orcs, Highmountain Tauren, Void Elves, and more. The expansion will also introduce a 20-player co-operative Warfront mode inspired by classic Warcraft which will have players managing resources, troops, and more.
Finally, players’ level caps have been raised to 120, which will be enough to keep some hardcore players going for a little bit, right?
The Battle for Azeroth is available now for all players of World of Warcraft. Players can download the game via Battle.net and choose from Standard and Digital Deluxe editions, and for those who want to have something physical, there’s a Collector’s Edition which includes content from the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as a collectible Horde and Alliance Double-Sided Mark of Allegiance; a limited-edition hardback of the novellas Elegy and A Good War, featuring exclusive artwork; and a Battle for Azeroth digital soundtrack.
