Stunlock Studios has announced the Battlerite standalone battle royale spin-off, Battlerite Royale, will be launching on Early Access on September 26.
Battlerite Royale might be hopping on the Battle Royale bandwagon but this title might actually have something different going for it. For those who haven’t played the main free-to-play title, Battlerite is a top-down action MOBA. With Battlerite Royale the same top-down aesthetic will be put to use offering a different perspective on the battle royale genre.
Of course, it also brings in similar mechanics from other popular battle royale games with its last-man-standing core found in games like PUBG and Fortnite, as well as a class-based character system like that found in Realm Royale, but with its own spin.
“Our take on the genre differs a lot from the FPS Battle Royale games out there. Battlerite has always been about arcade-like MOBA action, and we want to stay true to the core of it while scaling up the experience and adding new exciting elements,” says Johan Ilves, Marketing Director at Stunlock Studios. “With 20 different classes to pick from, a bird’s eye viewpoint and a unique combat system, we are confident that we will stand out in this crowded market. This is not only the Battle Royale game all MOBA players have been waiting for, it’s a treat for any BR gamer who wants a fresh take on the genre.”
The Early Access release of Battlerite Royale will feature 20 different Champions to choose from, each of which have their own unique fighting style. During play, they’ll be tasked with finding and equipping skills to hopefully overpower and put an end to their foes.
