Warner Bros. has confirmed who’ll be playing Huntress and Black Canary in their upcoming movie, Birds of Prey, which is set to land in February 2020.
Taking the role of Huntress is 10 Cloverfield Lane’s Mary Elizabeth Winstead. As for Black Canary, Underground actress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell has won the role. The two will be joining Margot Robbie who’ll return as Harley Quinn.
The movie is set to see a Gotham that isn’t protected by Batman, so instead a group of female superheroes will face the movie’s villain who is yet to be unveiled. According to Margot Robbie, the movie is set to be an R-Rated “Girl Gang” flick, so it’ll be exciting to see how exactly that’ll come about.
As for the two characters, Black Canary is well known for her shrieking cry and street fighting skills. Huntress, on the other hand, has previously been the daughter of Batman and Catwoman, though it seems she’ll have more of a Batman-style backstory who sees her family killed at a young age and becomes a vigilante.
As for the other Birds of Prey member, Bat Girl, there’s word that Barbara Gordon may be in the movie, but not in costume.
