Netflix has finally released a teaser trailer for the upcoming third series of their hit show, Daredevil.
As the teaser opens, Daredevil is seen hidden in the shadows of a confessional. Nothing is necessarily highlighted in the brief 53 seconds, as all the camera does is alternate between close-up shots of a bloody Matt Murdock/Daredevil and aerial shots of him between tolls of an ominous bell.
Murdoch’s confession goes as follows, “I once believed that justice could be found in a court of law. And in the light of day. But I was fooling myself. Darkness only responds to darkness. And the truth is, I’d rather die as the devil than live as Matt Murdock.”
This upcoming season takes place after the crossover The Defenders. Audiences were left believing Daredevil was dead, but not only is horned vigilante alive, but set to contend with one of his most infamous villains, Bullseye (played by Wilson Bethel, allegedly), as well as draw from the “Born Again” storyline from the comics, according to Charlie Cox who plays the titular superhero.
Deborah Ann-Woll returns as Karen Page, as well as Elden Henson as Murdock’s law partner Foggy Nelson, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, an incarcerated crime boss.
While there is no set release date for the season, it is still slated to come out this year. In the meantime, the first and second season are still available to stream on Netflix, for those who need to catch up.
