Since it’s E3 announcement Devil May Cry 5 has received a ton of publicity thanks to Capcom slowly, but consistently, releasing new information and videos of the upcoming title.

For starters, a Deluxe Edition has been announced that lets players customized Nero’s detachable arm. More specifically it turns him into fucking MEGA-MAN! See the teaser below.

As you can see it isn’t only a cosmetic add-on, the megabuster actually acts like the megabuster. And Capcom fans everywhere rejoiced.

As if that wasn’t enough, Capcom has also revealed that on top of the Mega Buster, players will also receive 4 other arms, 3 of which can be seen here:

On top of that, your pre-order will land you an upgraded Motorcycle weapon for Dante, Alternate rank and title screens, a dozen classic battle soundtracks and behind the scenes videos of pre-viz live action cutscenes. Oh. And players will also get a banana arm…

I’m sorry, but if THIS isn’t a pre-order incentive I’m just not sure what is!

In addition, Steam has listed the minimum and required specs for those wanting to play Devil May Cry 5 on their PC.

  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX760 or better
  • DirectX: Version 11

Recommended:

  • OS: WINDOWS 7 (64-BIT Required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4770 3.4GHz or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce® GTX960 or better

As you can see… They’re exactly the same, except for the graphics card, which obviously is recommended that you have a stronger video card in place.

Along with this, it seems that three digital storefronts, Steam, Xbox (Microsoft), and PSN have all listed similar information regarding Devil May Cry 5’s multiplayer functions. While these aren’t “officially” from Capcom, the similarities between the online stores seem to hint that this information is at least somewhat accurate.

While Steam seems to divulge that this multiplayer aspect is one of a cooperative focus, the other two online stores have more specifically pointed out that it can be enjoyed by 2-3 players. While this would certainly be new for the series, it would make sense considering the other new piece of information we’ve learned…

There will be at least 3 playable characters throughout Devil May Cry 5. To go along with that, some missions will even let you choose which of the three characters you would like to use. Dante and Nero are obviously involved, but the third character, V, seems to have caught everyone off guard. This news was confirmed by Capcom’s own Matt Walker through Discord.

“We’ve mentioned that there will be a bunch of missions in the game,” writes Walker. “For some missions, you’ll have 1 character you can play as, for some, you can select between two, and for some, you can select between all three.”

So basically, we will have the chance to play as Dante, Dante, or Dante on more than one occasion, because honestly, who would choose anyone other than our favorite Demon Slayer/Prince??

The only concern here is how choosing a character will affect the cutscenes. While this new information is exciting, it has yet to be known if playing as a different character will make others react towards you differently or if the cutscenes will play out like the same person is there regardless of who you play as. My money is on the latter, but we will find out soon enough.

Meanwhile, the TGS trailer for Devil May Cry 5 revealed a slew of returning characters as well as a couple new faces to the series. Returning fan favorites Trish and Lady both seem to have a role in this upcoming installment while Nero and Dante are obvious returning characters. Meanwhile, Dante’s new “client”, V, seems to be nothing more than a mystery at this time. However, as I previously mentioned, he will be a playable character, so he does hold some importance/relevance moving forward.

Finally, during TGS, 20 sweet, beautiful new minutes of Dante gameplay was revealed. While it seems the cutscenes were left out, the gameplay does seem to show an entire or most of a mission. You can see Dante using his new, interesting weapon, a chainsaw motorcycle?

As odd as it may seem, seeing this weapon in action makes it feel and fit right into the ridiculousness of the DMC world. On top of that, a variation of my favorite weapon looks to be making a return as well. You can see Dante seamlessly transition between weapons throughout the playthrough, but it is most exciting to see the Beowulf gauntlets make a return to the series. While I’m sure they won’t be called this in the game, they will always be the DMC3 Beowulf gauntlets to me.
