Codemasters has this week revealed that their latest Formula 1 title, F1 2018, has topped the sales charts from across the globe.
Since its launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on August 24, F1 2018 has landed in the number one spot across Europe, including UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Finland. The game has also taken other continents by storm including Australia and New Zealand.
This year’s entry takes the F1 experience even further by offering pressurized press interviews as part of their career, as well as more unique R&D options, among other things. The game also features the biggest line up of classic cars in the series so far.
“We are delighted with the success of F1® 2018. It reflects the hard work and dedication of everyone at Codemasters and growing interest in the world’s most popular motorsport,” said Jonathan Bunney, VP Publishing for Codemasters. “The first-week chart positions were strong and the latest data available shows that we have held the number one position in at least two of our biggest territories, UK and Germany. We look forward to hearing the news from all the others. The F1® Esports Pro Series, which includes the real world F1® teams for the first time, will be played on F1® 2018 and this will be an incredible showcase for the game.”
In our review, we wrote that F1 2018 “builds nicely upon its predecessor, adding content to the career that’s sure to make even the most seasoned racer excited. The physics have been given a nice overhaul, and some small graphical additions help the game advance. There are still some minor issues, but we’ll chalk them up as park firmé for this season.”
