Kingdom Hearts 3’s opening theme song, titled “Face my Fears”, turns out to be a collaboration between the series long time composer Utada Hikaru and… Skrillex?
That’s right, apparently Skrillex is a huge Kingdom Hearts fan. Initially, Square Enix stated that Skrillex and Hikaru were supposed to remix another track from the upcoming title, “Don’t Think Twice”. However, since then their collaboration has turned into an entirely new track and it will be released along with “Don’t Think Twice” now on January 18, 2019. The Producer Poo Bear has also been revealed to have helped work on the new single.
Utada Hikaru and Kingdom Hearts have been one in the same since the dawn of the franchise. His theme for the first game, “Simple and Clean” has been remixed a number of times throughout the franchise’s history, while his theme, “Sanctuary/Passion”, opened for Kingdom Hearts 2.
In other exciting Kingdom Hearts 3 news, Haley Joel Osment has been confirmed to reprise his role as the voice of Sora, alongside a slew of other well-known actors returning to lend their voice to their Disney counterparts. The entire main cast of Frozen will be involved as well as Tangled voice Zachary Levi and Tate Donovan once again lending his voice for Hercules.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to release January 25, 2019.
