During this week’s Nintendo Direct, we learned that Kirby’s Epic Yarn, originally for the Wii, will be enhanced and ported to the 3DS as Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn.
The original game featured a yarn Kirby in Patchland, a world made up of fabrics and yarn, which made for some unique gameplay. While the port will, of course, keep these aspects of the original game, there will be some additional abilities added. Items will increase yarn ball sizes and there’s an added wind ability that will help gather beads.
Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn will also feature a new devilish mode, which appears to add an extra enemy that follows you at the top of the screen. Minigames have also been added that allows players to try out Metaknight and King Dedede as yarn constructs.
There is no exact date for Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn yet, but we know it will be hitting shelves sometime in 2019, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
