The rumor mill lurches ever onward as we have heard that, allegedly, motion capture (or is that ‘kapture’?) for the next entry in the Mortal Kombat franchise has already started.
So far, we have not even had an official announcement that the eleventh entry in the Mortal Kombat series is being made. Of course, considering the immense popularity of the franchise, predicting that they will make a follow-up to Mortal Kombat X is as about impressive as predicting the Sun will rise tomorrow. Netherrealm being so far into the development process is rather surprising, though, considering their last title, Injustice 2, is not even 18 months old.
This rumor came from series veterans Richard Divizio and Daniel Pesina, who said in an interview that they were currently doing motion kapture work for the game. Both Divizio and Pesina have been doing motion kapture for the Mortal Kombat series all the way from the beginning, with Divizio portraying Kano and Pesina Johnny Cage, Scorpion and Sub-Zero in the original game.
So how reliable is this rumor? Without any more word on the subject, it is hard to say. Hopefully, someone at Netherrealm will comment on this story soon to either konfirm or dismiss the rumor for good.
Until then, we will all just have to kount down the hours until Mortal Kombat 11‘s release together. Perhaps, you should take up a hobby, like kanoeing, krocheting, or arts and krafts.
