Nintendo has confirmed the earlier rumor that New Super Mario Bros. U would be ported to the Switch as part of their Nintendo Direct stream last night.
While the previous rumor stated that New Super Mario Bros. U would be coming as part of a Super Mario Bros. bundle that’d also include Super Mario 3D World, Nintendo have only confirmed the release of Super Mario Bros. U.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, as it’s being called, will be coming to the Switch on January 11, 2019, and will offer the same four-player gameplay as the original, though it’ll be far simpler on the Switch than on Wii U.
In addition to the port, two new characters will come to the game in the form of Toadette and Nabbit. Toadette will have the ability to transform into Peachette and float around stages. Nabbit on the other hand… is just Nabbit. The game will also offer 164 courses and the New Super Luigi U expansion.
