Jagex has announced that after a month-long beta test, Old School RuneScape is set to arrive on both Android and iOS on October 30.
Having been announced last year, Jagex has been working tirelessly to bring their throw-back edition of RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, to mobile and following a month-long beta test, it’s finally on its way. Old School RuneScape is set to land on mobile on October 30. Players interested can pre-order and pre-register on the App Store and Google Play.
The mobile release will feature full cross-platform experience on mobile and PC for both members and non-members.
“The next few weeks are going to be incredibly exciting for myself, the Old School RuneScape mobile team, and for Jagex as a whole, as we count down towards the 30th October launch date,” said John Colgrave, Producer, Old School RuneScape Mobile.
“It’s been an incredible journey for us; we’ve worked tirelessly to bring the full Old School RuneScape adventure to mobile platforms, as well as enable a seamless cross-platform experience for our current, returning, and new players! Today’s invitation to Pre-Order and Pre-Register the game on the App Store and Google Play is a hugely significant one, and we can’t wait to throw open the doors next month.”
The mobile version of Old School RuneScape has been developed alongside the game’s dedicated community and offers features such as a refined and mobile-optimized interface, a one-touch action button, and touch-screen controls. The game is also compatible with Android 5 (Lollipop) and iOS 10.
Old School RuneScape is just the start of a mobile approach to the long-running MMO. In the future, Jagex also plans to bring the main RuneScape title to mobile, though currently there are no details on how development is going or a release date for that version of the game.
