Well, The Predator‘s stint at the top of the weekend box office came to an abrupt end this weekend just gone as newcomer The House With A Clock In Its Walls wins over weekend cinemagoers.
Let’s face it, The Predator had a bit of a rough start, not only was it surrounded by controversy the movie also performed pretty poorly as far as action movies go, during its first weekend, so it comes as no surprise that it has fallen down to fourth place. Taking first is newcomer, The House With A Clock In Its Walls, the dark fantasy comedy starring Cate Blanchette and Jack Black pulling in an impressive estimated $26.85 million.
Interestingly this weekend saw A Simple Favour climb up the box office charts scoring an estimated $10.4 million. This puts the movie’s domestic earnings at around $32.56 million. Of course that means The Nun has fallen a little further this weekend earning an estimatede $10.25 million.
This means The Predator is in fourth place with earnings of $8.7 million with an overall estimated domestic earning of $40.43 million. Summer mainstay, Crazy Rich Asians holds strong in fifth place with earnings of $6.5 million.
We had another new entry into the top ten, this time with Fahrenheit 11/9 with earnings of $3.1 million, which isn’t actually too bad considering the movie is a documentary, in fact its debut ranks as the 15th highest documentary.
