EA Games is apparently considering remastering Command & Conquer titles to celebrate the game’s 25th anniversary.
In a post over on the Command & Conquer subreddit, EA Producer Jim Vassella randomly revealed that it was “exploring” ideas about remastering classic Command & Conquer titles.
“We heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC. And as a fan of C&C for over 20 years, I couldn’t agree more,” he said.
While this is in no way a confirmation that EA is working on these remasters, Vasellea did ask for input from players as to how and what to remaster of the classic games. I’m hoping for a Red Alert remaster.
Command & Conquer‘s 25th anniversary takes place in 2020, so it gives EA plenty of time to consider and start work on a remaster, and even if they do go ahead with it, we likely won’t see anything for a while.
The next Command & Conquer title is the free-to-play mobile game what was announced at E3 2018; Rivals, which is essentially a reskinned version of Clash Royale to fit in with the C&C universe. A little disappointing, but I’m still excited.
