Fortnitemares 2018 is about to see something go bump in the night as players will be given a spooky treat in their favorite Battle Royale game. In Fortnitemares players will be facing off against Cube Monsters bringing in PvE to Battle Royale for the first time. To help players with their battle against the undead, they’ll find a new Six Shooter and Fiend Hunter Crossbow littered around the map.
There is also a new skin for Fortnite in the form of the Deadfire Outfit which looks suspiciously like another character from another hero shooter… The outfit itself will actually evolve as players play progressing through two styles based on the damage dealt to players and AI, and how long you last in the match.
The skin also comes with the Shackled Stone Back Bling as well as a Dark Shard pickaxe which can be found in the store.
Fortnite’s Fortnitemares 2018 event also comes with a handful of free challenges which when completed offer new in-game cosmetics. These challenges include:
- Destroy Cube Monsters
- Deal damage with Assault Rifles or Pistols to Cube Monsters
- Visit a Corrupted Area in different matches
- Dance at different Gargoyles
More challenges will be introduced over the course of the next few days and if they’re all completed players will be rewarded with the Dark Engine glider.
As for Save the World, we already know that the Fortnitemare’s Vlad event is back, but this time the story quests will include some changes and some new rewards.
Content for that includes:
- Brainiac Jonesy and Skull Ranger Ramirez (Free to Founders)
- New and returning Fortnitemares Heroes.
- Rat Rod Weapon Set
- And more…
Fortnite’s Save the World Event Store will also be host to some spooky Llamas over the course of the event which can be purchased using Fortnitemares currency, Candy. Players earn Candy by completing the Fortnitemares questlines.
