Less than a month ago, Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch Online service. Although many fans were excited about the new system, there were some concerns to be had.
One big concern had to do with how cloud data was stored. There was a fear that allowing your membership to the service to expire would eradicate the save data. Nintendo has since come out and said that until a user has hit six months without renewing the service, the user will be able to continue accessing their save data. Once it has been six months without a renewal, though, you can kiss your cloud saves goodbye.
Although this still may not be an ideal situation for some potential users, it’s nice to have a time frame to keep in mind now. Six months seems like enough time to remember–and renew–your subscription to Nintendo Switch Online.
You can subscribe to the online service right now, with various pricing plans. There are also free seven-day trials available.
