One dataminer has found hints within the mobile companion app that Red Dead Redemption 2 may be coming to PC after all.

While Rockstar hasn’t spoken specifically about a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2 we’re hoping that, much like GTA 5, the game will eventually arrive on PC after a year or so on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Now it seems those hopes are becoming more… hopeful, as one dataminer has discovered references to the PC platform while digging around in the code for the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app.

Multiple parameters from within the app suggest that a PC release is on the cards. These parameters include “PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpPC”, “CommandIsPcVersion(void) 000000000166A12C” and “SIGNIN_PC_APP_URL 0000000002A51F58”, the latter of which suggests a PC version of the app may also become available.

It would totally make sense that the game would eventually arrive on PC, but I’m not expecting it any time soon. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched just last week and the game is yet to get its Red Dead Online feature.

Maybe this time next year?
