Telltale Games has officially handed the reigns to the final season of The Walking Dead to Skybound, the company owned by The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman.
This news came during NYCC this past weekend where Kirkman announced the deal between Telltale and Skybound Games, a division of Skybound. According to Variety, Skybound will work with members of the original Telltale team to finish the story.
Skybound Games’ official Twitter account also confirmed the news over the weekend:

This is likely the conclusion to the saga which began in September where Telltale Games surprisingly laid off the majority of its employees leaving just a few behind to work on Netflix’ Minecraft Story Mode series.
During this time it was announced that all of their games were canceled, and the future of The Walking Dead – The Final Season was looking murky.
